Using technology developed by our partners MedicMobile and Dimagi, we will be setting up simple e-health platforms in the communities that we are working in.
Patient health information can be entered remotely via a generic cell phone. This information includes data on estimated delivery dates, number of prenatal visits, and provides the ability to flag any high risk pregnancies.
This information will be used to manage the number of pre-natal visits each mom is getting, ensure that supplies are in the community at the appropriate time, and track things like immunizations and malnutrition for baby.
Because most women can't make it to a hospital, every delivery kit includes the necessities for a normal home birth in a rural setting.
This means that everything from gloves for the healthcare worker delivering to a blanket for baby is included in a simple, easy to grab, sterile package. Here are some examples of what is included in each delivery kit.
TRAIN HEALTH WORKERS
Proper training for health workers is essential in promoting long term sustainability.
Because of this, HealthLink Cooperative has partnered with international organizational leadership giant "Stephen Covey" to develop training that is simple and effective.
Not only will in-person training take place but community health care leaders will be provided with easy to use manuals that they can use to train future healthcare workers in the community.
